A system that runs constantly but leaves one Colfax room hot, feels humid indoors, or drives your bill up isn't broken — it's underperforming. We measure instead of guess at what's dragging on performance.
A lot of Air Conditioning Repair requests aren't about a dead unit at all — they're about a system that runs and runs but never gets comfortable. Comfort complaints are almost always a combination of factors, so we test all three.
The approach that separates a real fix from a temporary patch.
Airflow, pressure, and temperature split all get measured instead of a quick 'seems fine' check.
Local staging means most Colfax visits happen within days, not weeks.
The assessment fee is disclosed upfront and applied to any approved repair, credited toward repairs.
Anemometers and manometers measure airflow and pressure rather than estimating by feel, not guesswork.
The most common Colfax comfort complaints, and how we resolve them.
We measure airflow at each register and check duct sizing to find where the imbalance starts before recommending dampers or resizing.
Sticky air often means the system is short-cycling or oversized, not properly pulling moisture out — we check both together.
A climbing bill usually traces to one or more of these three, and we check each during the visit.
Excess static pressure strains the blower and cuts airflow throughout the Colfax house, since excess pressure quietly shortens blower motor life.
Charge issues rarely throw an obvious error, so we verify against factory targets.
Coil and filter condition get checked together, since the two problems reinforce each other.
What to expect from a performance call.
Tell us what's off with comfort or cost and we'll get it scheduled.
Tech arrives with airflow and pressure testing equipment already loaded — no return trip for gauges.
Readings are taken and explained before any repair is proposed, then quote a flat-rate fix.
Re-measurement happens before we leave, not just assumed.
Reviews from actual diagnostic visits.
Second floor was always warmer than the first no matter what we set the thermostat to. Turned out the return duct was undersized for that whole level.
— W. Renaud, homeowner
Electric bill jumped almost $80 in a single month with no lifestyle change. They found a refrigerant undercharge that a previous company missed entirely.
— A. Sokolov, homeowner
Basement always felt swampy even when the AC ran constantly. Turns out the system was oversized for the space, adjusting settings fixed it without new equipment.
— G. Nakamura, homeowner
We assumed our old ductwork was fine since the house 'felt okay.' The pressure test showed otherwise and the fix noticeably improved airflow upstairs.

Common questions before a Air Conditioning Repair assessment.
Often fixable with duct sealing or damper adjustment, not a full redesign, but we measure before recommending either.
Cooling fast without running long enough to pull moisture is the common culprit.
Duct leakage losses show up directly on the bill.
We handle sealing and minor resizing directly, larger redesigns get scoped separately, bigger jobs get quoted separately.
Hidden losses get caught before they compound.
Most assessments wrap up in under two hours.
